Calculation of the relativistic bulk tensor and shear tensor of relativistic accretion flows in the Kerr metric.
In this paper, we calculate the relativistic bulk tensor and shear tensor of the relativistic accretion ows in the Kerr metric, overall and without any approximation. We obtain the relations of all components of the relativistic bulk and shear tensor in terms of components of four-velocity and its derivatives, Christoffel symbols and metric components in the BLF. Then, these components are deri...

متن کاملRadiative Bulk Viscosity
Viscous resistance to changes in the volume of a gas arises when different degrees of freedom have different relaxation times. Collisions tend to oppose the resulting departures from equilibrium and, in so doing, generate entropy. Even for a classical gas of hard spheres, when the mean free paths or mean flight times of constituent particles are long, we find a nonvanishing bulk viscosity. Here...
متن کامل‘Understanding’ cosmological bulk viscosity
A universe consisting of two interacting perfect fluids with the same 4-velocity is considered. A heuristic mean free time argument is used to show that the system as a whole cannot be perfect as well but neccessarily implies a nonvanishing bulk viscosity. A new formula for the latter is derived and compared with corresponding results of radiative hydrodynamics.
متن کاملRelativistic Flows in Blazars
The radiation we observe from blazars is most likely the product of the transformation of bulk kinetic energy into random energy. This process must have a relatively small efficiency (e.g. 10%) if jets are to power the extended radio–structures. Recent results suggest that the average power reaching the extended radio regions and lobes is of the same order of that produced by accretion and illu...
